The world of fandoms is big. Really big. I mean you just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. And then, fanlistings were created, and suddenly fans had a go to place for all their varried fandom needs.

The Guide has this to say on the subject of fanlistings:
A fanlisting is a site dedicated to uniting fans all around the world of a particular subject. If you're a fan, then you can be a part of the fanlisting! All that's required is your name, country and email address. TheFanlistings.org is the original web directory for fanlistings. It lists one fanlisting per subject, so that fans can easily find the fanlisting they're looking for, and all fans for that subject find the same fanlisting. The subjects include entertainment, fashion, history, food, sports, technology and various miscellaneous subjects as well. What's the point of building or joining a fanlisting? Because it's nice to know there are other people you've never heard of who share a remote commonality with you. Plus, it beats sitting around waiting to go insane.

About The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable film. It is the most remarkable, certainly the most successful (albeit the only) film ever to come out of the great production company of Hammer & Tongs. More popular than the latest star-studded romp, better selling than this summer's hottest action sequel, and more controversial than Michael Moore's trilogy of political blockbuster's Where Bush Went Wrong, Some More of Bush's Greatest Mistakes and Who is this Bush Person Anyway? It has been in "development hell" for more than two decades and was finally green lit shortly after Douglas Adams' death. Everyone working on the film knew how much Douglas wanted to see this film get made, and it is clear by the attention to detail and dedication that this film is a tribute to his memory.
